I wear the doggone pants. Translation: Help me

Pull up a chair and grab a cup of Java for a cozy chat about what's on your mind and what's happening in your neck of the woods. This is a strictly for fun non-gardening topics.

Well it seems fish oil is indeed added to dog food, but I don't know the quantity they add. Just tried this as a test to see if it would work, which it did. I realize it was a bit on the heavy side, but it was just a test.

Tried mixing it before w/ no luck. Haven't mixed dry and wet with oil yet. Just tried oil, as stated, for the first time tonight. Will try that tomorrow.

No clue if that's a lot of food, yet. It hasn't been eating dog food at all and refused to. So if it continues to eat dog food (finally) I'll measure it out.

Vet did say she was on the thin end when we first brought her in. Today was it's first round of shots, vet said it gained 3 lb in almost 3 weeks and asked what I was feeding it (since she noted it wasn't eating before). I told her I bought chicken breast and pot roasts. Mixed that with potato's, carrots, a teaspoon of powdered skim-milk for calcium and a mix of brown and white rice. Vet said to try and keep it at around 55-lb's and the diet was good. But keep in mind, it hasn't moved much for a couple of weeks due to the operation and med's it had. It's bouncing around and more active now this week. So next week the better half can walk it more and bring it to dog parks.

So I looked into fish oil and dogs, BBQ. and yeah, I gave it 3x too much.

The daily dosage is supposed to be 5-ml to 7-ml for it's weight (will stick with the low end, 5). I just measured a cap and it gave about 3.5-ml.

So, ~3x too much.

oh well... if it keels over from liver toxicity I won't have to pay for shots again next month.

Salmon oil will be a safer bet. Will pick some up today and try that one, if I can find a bottle of liquid and not just capsules.

Not my dog. To be blunt, if it was my choice I wouldn't be putting oil on it's food cuz I would have put it down and not have it to begin with.

... and that oil will make her coat so very shiny and healthy. She ought to be brushed from time to time and helps with the shedding.

Well I went to the dog park like I said I would. But, women looked at me like I was some kinda perv or something.

Maybe next time I'll bring the dog and see if that changes anything.

That reminds me, Ron. Remember I said Ontario has that BS green tax on electronics? I read in the french media that it's coming here... 15% across the board on anything electrical/electronic (from what I understood). Haven't seen anything in the english media about it yet. Supposed to start in October. That's even more pricey than Ontario I think.

So in summery: Cosmetic surgery will likely go up now! Damn them.
