I've never grown them - apparently they are annuals in our Zone 6a but I was just wondering if you could start a plant from a cutting? Is it possible that you could start one from a carnation you buy at a florist shop? hmmmmm . . . . . . . . . something to try.

Kahwar

You can try NewGardenPlants.com, forestfarm in Oregon, but other than Europe and of course Australia and New Zealand, this dianthus hybrid is hard to come by

Good luck

Thanks for the input and the gardening site, Dan - I will check it out for sure. I need to check out some site for phalaenopsis orchid care. Mom was having great luck with hers - they were blooming a lot in the past two years but they aren't doing great these past couple months. I'm not sure if she has forgotten to water them or over-watered them. Sometimes the leaves are wrinkled. Should I repot them? Appreciate any advice.

Hey Ruby,

What size of pot is it in?
What is the potting medium?
Are there plenty of aerial roots above the potting medium?
Are the roots healthy and plump, or papery and withered?
Has your mother moved the pot to another location?
Have they been overfertilized?
