Weed &Feed

Postby 06Honda » Apr 08, 2013 1:37 pm

I didn't see a section for "Lawns" so posting here. I live in Southern Ontario (kingston) and would like to know the best/ideal time to apply Scotts Weed & Feed to control danelions. Is this month too early, not sure if temps play a role when considering application.

The 'Feed' part of the mix can probably be applied at any time.

I've never used the mix so I can't say for sure, but doesn't the weed killer have to be applied to the leaves of broadleaf plants to be effective? I know that some herbicides work that way.

Now maybe yr lawn is greening up already and plants are visible... IDK. That's not so in my yard yet.

So . . bein' a guy, I hate to say it . . . but u might have to actually read the instructions. :( lol

Hahaha! Good plan, Paul. ;) Patience... or call it 'setting up an ambush' for the Dandelions. :)

Every year I start out digging up those pesky dandelions as they pop their little heads up. After a couple months my enthusiasim wanes! I'm nervous to use any chemicals because of the birds & cats that roam through my lawn. (which is lovely lush green right now - I put compost on it) I have to deal with "creeping Charlie" next. :x
