Japanese Willow

Hello,

I have a Japanese Willow and it continues to have shoots come out of the main trunk even after cutting and applying black glue (not sure of the name) to stop the growth.

Willows of any kind are prolific growers and will continue to sprout no matter what you try to paint on them.....you cannot stop the growth with the "black glue" that you are applying.....best to just rub off any sprouts that occur on the trunk.

yeah from what ive heard jap willow is more of a shrub then anything so its going to be hard to stop it from puffing up and doing what its made to do.

i think its 4-6 feet tall and 4-6 feet wide.
