Anyone know what kind of tree this is?

Postby DannoMc » Aug 05, 2013 11:05 am

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can tell me what type of tree this is? We are in Alberta.

Any help is appreciated! I've gone through the tree identification websites and nothing is really showing me what this is. Almost seems like Walnut family but... not really. haha

I think you're right now that you've pointed me in the right direction. Seems like this fits the bill?

Lots of birds love the Sumac fruit in the Fall. And it makes a great, low-growing tree or hedge.

Watch out for root spread tho. Sumac is quite prolific.
