Hi folks.

I have some first year ornamental grasses that died in this year's cold. I need to replace them with something that will grow tall and remain thin. I want them to conceal the grate over my basement window. I also don't want them taking over the Lupins in the front.

Can anybody make a recommendation?

Cheers

you could try Astilbe or Asiatic Lillies.

Hi there. Thanks for the recos.

Unfortunately they are in full sunlight in the afternoon, so Astilbe won't do well. The latter seem they could do the trick. I've not used bulbs before.

Will chase them up. Thanks.

Cheers

Take your photo to a good garden center and ask a qualified horticulturist for help.....
There you can see what plants you like, growth patterns and colours.....

That's exactly what I'm doing today. Heh. I've been thinking a tall Boxwood to block the windows, but not sure about how long it would take.
