Conditions: Full sun to part shade; drought tolerant
An attractive combination of ornamentals and edibles to place near a dining table on a sunny deck. Deadhead the nasturtiums, zinnia and gloriosa daisies to keep them flowering. Sprinkle edible nasturtium blooms over a tossed salad. (Be aware that ornamental peppers are inedible and can be super hot, so should be placed out of reach of children.)

Plants used
  • Ornamental peppers (Capsicum annuum cvs.)
  • Golden oregano (Origanum vulgare ‘Aureum’)
  • Gloriosa daisies (Rudbeckia hirta ‘Toto Rustic’ and ‘Toto Gold’)
  • Ornamental dandelions (Taraxacum officinale ‘Sativum’)
  • Red nasturtiums (Tropaeolum majus ‘Empress of India’)
  • Orange zinnia (Zinnia ‘Profusion Orange’)
