Build a short fence to keep small animals out, but make sure it reaches about 8” into the soil to keep out animals that like to dig. If a fence doesn’t work try sprinkling cayenne or hot chili peppers around your garden. Animals seem to steer clear of this spicy product. Mothballs are also a good option.

Not working? Try spraying a mixture of vinegar and water around the perimeter of your garden (not on your plants).
