How to dig
Hours spent digging can take its toll on your body—sore knees and back are a common complaint.
How to do it safely
1. To make digging easier on your body, get close to your working area.
2. Keep your navel pulled into your spine, and your ribs and hip bones pulled together. This acts as a brace for your back.
3. Since most sore backs are the result of repetitive strain, stand up and stretch every 15 minutes, or alternate between digging and another activity.
