Plants - Annuals
Hot plants for your 2012 garden
Head to both the annual and perennial sections at your local nursery to discover these beautiful bushes and blooms
Planting season is now underway and nurseries are teeming with the latest and greatest plants alongside tried and true favourites. It can be very overwhelming choosing plants from such a wide selection of annuals and perennials. I always find myself making two different lists—one with the gardens or containers waiting to be filled and another with my plant picks. I featured a few of my favourites on the blog—Haskap berries, Brunnera ‘Jack Frost’, Suncatcher Pink Lemonade Petunias, Lanai Verbena Twister Pink and PC vegetables in a cage. I’ve included a few more on the following pages. Perhaps you’ll see something you’d like to add to one of your lists!
Dahlia Dahlinova Hypnotica Cotton Candy
This beauty graced the cover of the annual President’s Choice Lawn & Garden report. No wonder it’s a cover model—look at those blooms! This plant is meant to be front and centre somewhere in the garden or in a container.
