A walk through the Keukenhof

Fabulous fritiilaries
When people think of Holland, they immediately think tulips, but there are so many other spring-flowering bulbs that are grown. I was quite taken by the fritillaries. Some look like delicate little bells. The frittilaria meleagris has a beautiful checkerboard pattern. The ones pictured here, frittilaria imperialis, remind me a little of Muppets.
