Gwaenynog Hall in Denbighshire County, North Wales, was the inspiration for Beatrix Potter’s bunny tales. She visited her aunt and uncle there more than a dozen times between 1895 and 1913, painting her surroundings and caring for her pet bunnies: Flopsy, Mopsy, Benjamin, Cotton-tail and Peter. This setting became the backdrop for the bucolic imaginary world of the Flopsy Bunnies.
