One of the many garden sculptures
Quatre Vents was named for the winds that at times seem to be coming in four directions at once. Cabot created each of the 24 gardens to evoke a different emotion and sensory experience. Nothing has been left to chance and every detail has been meticulously planned out. The genius here is that Cabot has not subdued nature, he has nurtured it, enhancing natural lines and shapes. His landscapes don't feel artificial or stilted, but flow into the natural surroundings, creating profound serenity.
