The Butchart Gardens, located on Vancouver Island in B.C., has become a world-renowned botanical tourist destination, attracting close to a million visitors each year. Jennie Butchart began the gardens in 1904, establishing several distinct gardens including the famous Sunken Garden. Today, Butchart Gardens is a living monument to Canada’s gardening history.
