Add one of these cherry blossom festivals to your itinerary if you're going to be in any of these five cities in the springtime.

Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival
April 5 to April 28
Featuring more than 37,000 flowering cherries around the city, this year’s festival pays tribute to Vancouver’s 125th birthday by making another 3,000 cherry trees available to city residents.

High Park Cherry Blossom Walk, Toronto
Late April to early May
In 1959, Japan gifted High Park with a collection that features delicate Yoshino cherry trees, known for their fluffy snow-white flowers.

National Cherry Blossom Festival, Washington, D.C.
March 20 to April 27
This event draws millions of visitors to view more than 5,000 white and pink trees around the Tidal Basin. 

Cherry Blossom Festival, Macon, Georgia 
March 16 to March 25
Dubbed the “pinkest party on earth,” this festival includes more than 300,000 Yoshino trees.

Matsumae Koen Cherry Blossom Festival, Japan
Late April to late May
This festival in eastern Japan’s Hokkaido province includes 250 varieties and about 10,000 trees. The trees bloom in succession, allowing for a show that lasts nearly a month.
