Get Growing Toronto! Urban Agriculture in our City
This space demonstrates how you don't need a standard plot with rows and rows of veggies. No matter where you live, you can incorporate edibles into your space. There are several divisions of the city represented among the colourful gardens stocked with herbs and veggies, including the lettuce tree shown above. Toronto Water provides drought-tolerant plant lists and shows how you can reduce your water usage. There is also information on allotment and community gardens, which, according to Patricia Landry, who is in charge of Parks Forestry Programming, allow people to come together and get to know people in their community; it gets children involved; and allow people to celebrate their culture as a lot of people's backgrounds are focused on food.
