The HESCO Garden
Designed by: Martin Walker
Awards: Gold Medal
The HESCO Garden by Leeds City Council presented the power of water as a resource. The garden featured an 18th century watermill with a rusty façade. It was both brutal and pretty as water from a stream fed the working watermill and spilled into the mill pond with its marginal and aquatic plants. The garden had a naturalistic setting and was planted with both native and ornamental trees.
