Held annually in London, England, the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show sets the trends for the garden design world. Home gardeners and professionals alike eagerly anticipate what Chelsea has to offer. New plants are introduced by the crème de la crème of growers, sending visitors home with long wish lists. Then are the gardening and outdoor living the products showcased in the marketplace designed to tempt you. This year’s offerings did not disappoint on all counts.
Casual style
A casual planting style became a repeating theme in many of the show gardens. The Celebration of Caravanning garden featured a 1950s aluminum camping trailer surrounded by relaxed plantings in cream and pink…rather feminine in feel, thanks to roses, salvias, irises and a variety of grasses.
